Florida Tank Tie Down Program
Propane Education Foundation of Florida Tank Tie Down Design Program
In response to recent updates in Florida Building Codes and FEMA requirements, the Florida Propane Gas Association (FPGA) in conjunction with the Propane Education Foundation of Florida (PEFF) have collectively worked to develop generic design specifications for Standard Propane Tanks up to 1000 Gallons. Theses design specifications have been created to address structural wind loading and buoyancy issues in flood prone areas throughout Florida. The design specifications are in compliance with standards for all counties in Florida. Installations larger than 1000 gallons will need to be addressed on a case by case basis. Since the engineering design work for this program has been underwritten by the PEFF, these individual designs are available for purchase by all propane dealers in Florida. The cost of the three designs in a package will be $150 per county where they are certified for use.
