As the Big Green Egg Specialist for New England, I find my most important task is dealer training. Among the information I convey to my dealers, which they in turn impart on their customers, is the life time warranty, the fast and efficient means of cooking, and the ease with which you can control the temperature of the Egg. The last piece of information I hit my dealers with is that anything you can cook in the kitchen can be cooked on the Big Green Egg. Anything. Most people pause at that point, sometimes to contemplate the implications of what I just said and sometimes to try to think of some obscure dish that couldn’t possibly be properly prepared with an Egg.

Cooking on the Egg

I too was once a skeptic, of course. However, I have personally tried to find something that cannot be made on the Egg. The most difficult food items to cook on an Egg, in my opinion, are candy, soufflés, bead, deep fried foods, stir fry, and cold smoked goodies. Anyone can make them, though, if they just have a little patience.

The benefits of owning the Big Green Egg? Where do I begin? On a humid summer day I can prepare artisan bread on the Egg without heating the kitchen and consequently me. I can cook fried chicken or fish without having the smell linger throughout the house. Finally, I love to entertain and with just a little preparation I can cook an entire 3-7 course meal without leaving my patio.

Don’t just take my word for it. This is Jay Collins, Sales Manager at Henry’s Electric, Inc., take on the Egg.

“As someone who has been a BBQ enthusiast for years, the thing that impresses me most about the Big Green Egg is the versatility and the ease of use! I have gone from cooking my thanksgiving turkey to baking a pie for desert! When someone tells you that anything you can cook in an oven you can cook on the Green Egg they are not joking!”

At the end of the day my job is to inspire and I hope I have inspired you to try new things on your own Big Green Egg. Bon Appétit!
